“Harper’s Bazaar is an American monthly fashion magazine for women, first published in New York City in 1867. It is published by Hearst and positions itself as a style resource for women who prioritize high-quality fashion.

Luc-Olivier Merson was a French academic painter and illustrator born in Paris in 1846. He studied at the École de Dessin and the École des Beaux-Arts and had his first work exhibited at the Paris Salon in 1866. He was awarded the Prix de Rome in 1869 and spent five years in Italy working on religious and historical subjects. Merson won first prize at the ‘Société des Artistes Français’ exhibition in 1875 and is known for his painting Notre-Dame de Paris, which was created in 1881. He was awarded a gold medal at the 1889 Exposition Universelle and was elected to the Académie des beaux-arts in 1892. Merson died in Paris in 1920.”
